I picked up mountain biking this summer mostly so I didn't spend it all wallowing and waiting for the snow, but also to get some exercise in and improve my cardio. Well, it worked, I think I managed to ride about twice a week, and my skills and endurance steadily increased... Until I dislocated my shoulder late August. I should be starting physio next week, hopefully I recover in time for the snowboard season. In the meantime I feel like I'm slowly losing all the progress I've made this summer.... Oh well, I'll just have to start from scratch like I usually do.

Oh no!!!

Well at least it's an upper body injury.  You can still train your legs and core, no excuses!

Squats, lunges, calf raises...  There are so many variations of all of these.  Body weight is plenty or use a dumbbell in only one arm to engage your core.  Or a weight vest or a backpack with rocks...

Stay active!

I'm just slaying...

Yeah, this! I'm starting to really feel it in my core now doing split squats

Also, walking steep hills is good low-impact cardio, just make sure the risk of falling is small, so you don't hurt yourself again trying to catch yourself with your injured arm, or injure yourself should you fall
