I’m from Sweden but going to the French alps twice this season, both times with UCPA because it’s affordable and I really enjoyed the concept 15-ish years ago as a skier… Let’s see if we can’t find a time and place to meet up and get better together.
I’m doing a solo trip, full time instruction, to Serre-Chevalier in the end of January, 24th-31st. I think that means I get Sunday and Wednesday to ride by myself.
I’m going with friends, half time instruction, to Tignes/Val D’Isere in the end of March, 21st-28th. That means Sunday and Wednesday and half a day each day to ride myself/with my skier friends
Realistically I’m the worst rider by far on this forum, so I guess what I’m saying is I’d love to get some pointers from someone who knows how to do posi-posi carving and maybe get filmed by someone who actually can film someone riding which is not a skill my friends possess 😂
To make it worth your time since I can’t teach you anything I won’t have a problem with you trying my boards. I’ll most likely be bringing both boards I have, a Stranda Shorty 164 and a Big Snowboards G4 162 soft (I just got it delivered today and calling it soft is like calling Steph Curry with his 188 cm/6’2” short). If you’re a Sasquatch with big feet we may have to mount your bindings, because I’ve got tiny feet so I have Jones Mercury and Flow NX2 both in medium.
Ping! @robinb Lets coordinate in plain sight here so others could join if they can!

@board-doctor I know, I know! Maybe that's what I should do too because my dear friends don't know how to position themselves (standing or skiing alongside) and they don't know what's interesting to see from a technique perspective, and I don't think they understand that I try to use it to improve my own riding because they're very much just either trying to survive or ski without really thinking about anything
I would also feel supremely silly filming my poor riding with a selfie stick

I think the first batch of C4's was softer than the prototypes. At a 161lbs, I couldn't properly flex the mid-stiff proto. Now that I'm over 180lbs, I actually get some spring out of my 'soft' first gen C4. With the EGS, it doesn't really feel softer to me than the soft proto (without EGS), but I haven't been on them back to back.
James has said that subsequent boards were softened another 6%, so I might be into a mid-flex now at 180lbs... but yeah, they're solid boards!

Hi!
In my opinion, dont overthink, just use a movile or buy an insta360, take a few shoots from yourself, up down left or right (actually doesnt matter at all, just take few ones) and you´ll see points to improve and things you need to improve but you can not imagine if you dont see them...
I buyed a second handed insta360 one x with case and stick for 80€, it is very easy to edit videos on the movile and it is amazing to discover things you are doing wrong and i found it very very easy to handle with.
Tignes is amazing! i were there last march for a week... plenty of blues to practice, improve an having lot of fun!
Regards!
One example, it is very easy to see in my toeside i need to work more on shoulders level and not to touch the snow... in my heel side, when i fall, i can see how i change my posture... i can see my back hand on heelside needs to go more to touch my front knee... more hip rotation would be better... etc...
Just take some shots and you´ll see things to improve.
